Three Hungarian boats took part in the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. Those wood-made boats still exist amongst the beautiful old timer boats. The boats were called “Red”, “White” and “Green”. Two of them were renovated in our workshop.
“Green” was renovated in 1998 and sailed in the east part of Lake Balaton. Through winter seasons the boat was kept in the Pannonhalma Archabbey. The owner of the boat is a Hungarian architect who lives in New York and his wife was the abbey’s chief accountant.
The boat called “Red” nowadays is the property of our workshop; it's under a careful renovation. Red was exhibited this year at the Budapest Boat Show in our booth. We hope that it can take part in the “Tabu Old Timer Cup” in its renovated form in this year.
Unfortunately about the boat called “White” we have pretty little information.
